New equipment for the Health Coop St. Adolphe who now enjoys a defibrillator with a grant from the Fondation médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d'en-Haut.
On June 14, Pierre Durocher and Daniel Desjardins of the Fondation médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d'en-Haut handed, indeed, a Coop health defibrillator. This new equipment will help save lives. The donation is appreciated by physicians and clinic staff.
Early defibrillation, combined with CPR, greatly increases the chances of survival of a person in cardiac arrest who has ventricular fibrillation, the leading cause of sudden death in adults. This unit can be used by doctors and rescue workers, but also by the general public. Training workshops will be offered soon in order to raise awareness. The Municipality of Saint-Adolphe d'Howard thus now has three defibrillators available to the public.
Traffic up
Health Coop St. Adolphe saw its level of activities grow significantly in recent years. Clinical time slots without appointments are increasingly stretched. In fact, citizens develop the reflex to contact the Coop when they have an emergency or unrest or come directly to the clinic.
It is important to remember that the services in family medical clinics are mainly clinical appointment. A family medical clinic, it must be said, is not a hospital emergency. A patient in distress should call 9-1-1 or go to the hospital.
Consultation without appointment are available Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 12 pm and the first Friday of the month from 17h to 19h. Also, time slots are offered occasionally in the evening from 17h to 19h, when a doctor is available. However, it is suggested to consult the website of the Health Coop www.coopsante.org.
"The Health Coop is involved in the accessibility of nearby health care for citizens of the region by providing a place and developing services. That is why the team of the Fondation médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d'en-Haut is pleased to support it, "commented the secretary-treasurer of the Foundation Pierre Durocher.
